ACTION OF THE EDUCATION BOARD Yesterday a report was presented t< the Education Board stating that the stric ture-j p_ssed on th© Board with regard t< tha Hnnmer Plains jchool on the occasioi of the rrcmiei-'r. visit had been considered. It was resolved that the asm-lions made were not _t>rne out by tho facts, and thai a copy of a report made by Mr Ritchie Inspeofcor, on the matter, be forwarded t< tha Department and to the Hanmer Plain. ccmrnittee. The report was adopted. Tho information supplied by Mr Ritchii with regard to the scthool was to the effeci that, after making all allowances, the roon: afforded ample space for 31 pupils on tin Board's scale, or for 27 on that of the De partmeafc. There was ample seating nnd desk accommodation for 33 children, while the present roll number was 28, and the highest attendance during the current quarter was 27, this maximum being attained on only (.even half days. Tha for lighting and ventilation were distinctly good. It was decided to forward a copy of Mr Ritchie's report to tlie Premier.
