TO THE EDITOB OF THE PBESB.
Sir,—As the discussion ou the subject of the Good Friday sports is rapidly merging into personal attacks on Mr linsor an<J his office, varied with private interpretation of Scripture and instruction on the discipline of the primitive Church, may I be allowed to make a practical suggestion, which may be more to the purpose. I understand that one of the events in tlie programme is called '.The Good Friday Handicap." As tliis title gives offence tomany people, may I venture to suggest to the Christchurch Cycling Club that they should find some other name for this event? They conld effect a change of name without any detriment to themselves. I feel sure that in making this concession they would go far towards removing that bitterness of feeling which is deplorable at all times, but most of all when caused by religious disputes.—Yours, etc., C.W.
