CONSOLIDATION OF AMERICAN CANALS.
United Press Association—By Elflotrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, March 17. The "Morning Post" states that Mr Gates, the American millionaire, has joined a committee of financiers, who are studying a scheme to widen, deepen, and link together all the canals in North America, the completion to take half a century, at a co;it of two thousand million pounds sterling. The Federal and State Governments are expected to contribute towards tho cost.
