MEETINGS, ENTERTAINMENTS, dc.
The annual meeting of the St. Mark's Young Men's Club, Opawa, was held in St. Mark's sdioolroom on Thursday evening.. The Vicar (Rev. P. J. Cocks) was in the chair. The Secretary (Mr Douglas Ball) .presented tlie report for List season, which showed there were sixty-one members!, and Mr A. Douglas (treasurer) gave a statement of receipts and expenditure, which showed a small balance in hand after meeting all liabilities. The election of officers resulted aa follows:—Mr G. Laurenson,- M.H.R., patron; Rev. P. J. Cocks, president; Messrs G. Mitchell, J. E. March, G. Pc trie, H. A. Bruce, and FWilding, vice-presidents. Mr Ball was reelected seca-etaary, and Mr H. Hurst treasurer, and a Managing Committee appointed. It was decided to open on Thursday evening, April 16th, and, in addition to the regular weekly meeting for athletics and games, to hold a meeting once a fortnight for a literary and debating class. The Committee were authorised to obtain th _ services of a capable athletio drill instructor.
