It is understood that the Government ha. recommended the Governor to call to the Legislative Council tlie Hon. T. Thompson, of Auckland. ex-Minister of Justice; Mr W. F. C. Carncross. of Eltham, and ex-metnber for Taieri; Mr Francis Trask, ex-Mayor, and a member of the Harbour Boardi Ne.on: and Mr Alfred Baldey, member of the Land and Education Boards, Southland.
