The usual monthly sale was held at Coalgate on Friday," when a large and varied entry of sheep was yaided. There was a large attendance of dealers and fanners, eeveral being from Ashburton, Ghertsey, and other districte. The entry of sheep and lambs, numbering 16,700, contained several station limes, including drafts from Sir Jno. Hall's, Mr F. J. Saville'e, Mr G. RutheWbrd'e (Dalethorpe), and Snowdon Estate, and were mostly good sorts of young sheep and lambs. The yarding of fats was composed! almost entirely of fat lambs, nearly all of good to prim© quality, several lines being exceedingly good, the bulk of the entry selling at 14s to 16s 9d, Mr Alex. Beatty obtaining the latter price for a line of excellent quality tegs. A brick demand existed for nearly all classes, backward wethers being the exception. Sales were mode as follows: —Light-weight freezing wethers 16s sd, mixed sexes 16s 6d, maiden ewes 15s, freezing lambs, best 14s to 15s 2d, tegs 15s 3d to 16e 9d, lightweights 12s 10d to 13s 6d, fat crossbred ewes, best sorte, 12s lOd to 15s 6d, others 9s lid to lls sd, fat merino ewes 6s 6d to 7s, rape lambs 10e 6d to 12s 4d, storee 7s 7d to 9s 6d, two-tooth) half bred wethers 13e 9d to 11* 4d, two and four-tooth crossbred wethers 14s lOd, two-tooth lialfbred e,wes 16s 9d tp 17s 3d, four-tooth do 18e 6d to 19s, mixed aigte 13s 7d to 14s lid, eoundmouth 10s 2d to lls Bd, four and eix-tooth crossbred ewes 13s 2d to 14s 6d, four, six, and eight-tooth do 12s Id to 15s 2d, aged cull do 5s 3d to 5s sd, saumd-mouth merino ewes 6s 5d to 10s 3d, failing mouth and aged do 2s 8d to 5s 2d. The most noticeable sales were for:—Mr Al«c. Beatty, 78 tegs at 16s 9d; Mr Jno. Beatty, 75 at 16s 2d; Mr E. Derrett, 177 at 15s 6d; Mr J. Scott, 57 at 15s 4d; Mr J. Keltic, 30 at 15s id 1 ; Mr Prestidge, een., 42 at 15s 3d; Mr MeKee, 75 fat lambs at 15e 2d; Meesns W. and G. Hall, 315 at 15s 2d; Messrs Bealey 8r38., 681 at 15s Id; Mr W. Wileon, 844 at 14s 4d to 15s Id; Mr Ambrose Beatty, 350 at 15s; Rev. Ronaltfson, 201 at 15s; Mr W. Dorman, 210 at 13s 7d to 14e 7d; Mr J. Scott, 73 at 14s 5d to 14a 6d; Mr W. Oliver, 72 at 14a "6d; Mr D. McGoverin, 35 at 14s 6d; Mr 0. Early, 50 at 14s; Snowdon Estate, 612 four-tooth halfbred ewee at 18e 6d to 19s, 1826 halfbred lambs (tussock) at 10s to lls 2d, 800 do (paddock) 12s; Mr G. Rutherford (Daletihorpe), 550 two-tooth half bred ewes at 16s 9di, 508 two-tooth halfbred wethers at 12s 9d to 14s, 106 sound-mouth merino e>wes at 10s 3d; Sir J. Hall, 430 four, six, and crossbred ewes at 15s to 15s 2d, 440 mixed ages halfbred ewes at 14s to 14s lid; Mr F. J. Savill, 257 two-tooth halfbred ewce at 17s 3d; Mr R. Hannah (Black Hills}, 618 halfbred lambs at 10s 10d, 466 merino ewes at 7s 9d.
