HARVEST FESTIVAL.
The conjoinfd Harvest Festival and Floral Fete, which takes place under the auspices of the A. and P. Association and the Floral Fete Committee, on Thursday next, on the Show Grounds, promises to be a great success. A very large number of entries have been made in connection with the attractive itenxs on the Floral Fete programme, which includes a poster competition, and a number of unique competi- 1 tions. In connection with the A. and P. Association, there will be stalls representing the various districts in Canterbury, at which prochioe of all kinds will be sold, a military display by the volunteers, exhibitions of horse taming, rough riding, etc., bee handling by a bee espert from Auckland. The Garrison Band will be in attendance, and altogether the attractions offered are such a« should induce a very large gathering. The object is t*» pay off the mortgage existing on ti. Show Grounds, and thus enable the A. id P. Association to carry out its valuable work more successfully than it is now able to do when hampered with so much expenee.
