ELECTIONS OF OFFICERS.

(PHESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) NAPIER, March 10. Tlie eleventh annual meeting of the Accident Assurance Society of the United Fire Brigades' Association of New Zealand was held here this evening. A motion to define, if possible the term "accident" was left in the hanos of tlie Committee. Motions to alter the system of registration, and to amend the rulo re the investment of funds, were both negatived. A Committee was appointed to obtain information in respect to increasing the subscription, with a view to enabling greater benefits to be paid to members. The following officers were elected:—President, Captain Toomey (Lyttelton); vice-presidents, Captains Phillips (Sumner), and Kivell (Stratford; secretary and treasurer, Superintendent J. G. Gilberd (Napier); hon. auditors, F. W. Garner and W. Hodgson. The following officers have been elected for the United Fire Brigades' Associationi of New Zealand:—President, Captain Washier (Roslyn); vice-presidents, Captains Winn (Lawrence) and Buttle (Wanganui; secretary, Superintendent J. GGilberd; auditor, F. W. Gamer.
