INVERESK SCHOOL.
The principal and pupila invited their friends to a garden party at the close of the term yesterday. The day was unfavourable for outdoor recreation, but Air Tankard's class went through their musical drill during a epell of fine weather, and at the close, in token of their appreciation, and with good wishes /for his future happiness, presented him with a silver cake tr»y. JSeverai musical items and recitation* were given by the pupOe during to* ajternoon. The following ie the prize list: — Matriculation and Medical Preliminary ■paw—M. B. Morrow. Mrs Dickson's gold xaedal for the greatest improvement in all departments of school work—E. Chamberlain. Upper Divieion—First prize (Mr Hour's), I. Reese (Class A.) first prise, L. Morrow (Clan B); first Scripture, L. Morrow. Poetry —J. Salter. General proficiency—Viti EdVine. Middle Division—T. Warren 1, Audrey Miller 2. General proficiency, G. Smith. Drawing and Decorative Art, Ethel M. Buxton. Lower Division—S. Jameson 1. Attendance Priie, M. Carmichael. Special Prizes—Misa Watereton's, J. Reese (Euolid); Mies Watereton's, T. Warren {Oral Work); Miss Jessie McKay's, M. Jamieaon tEiitory and Geography).
