.-■■■ ♦ The Geraldioe Coiuitv Council met on Thursday. Precept—Messrs J. Talbot (chairman), A, Kelman, Bi R. Mac Donald, O. J. Dennietoun, A. Metcaif, Dixoa, and Wright. Tie Waitobi Pkt Wat€r-reic» ; Committee reported that only five parsons attended the annual meeting of ratepayer* in that district, and no • Committee w»e elected. The Council accepted - the old Committee. The Chairman mentioned that the expenditure on the' Rangitata-Oiuri head-work* was £474 2s 6d, which had been paid out of the general fund/ with w> provision for repayment at pneeent, .. Mr Metcalf raid that most of the uembere of the . Committee were in favour of a seven yeaie , term in which to repay the money. . Hβ thought a three years' term would be too ehort, and make the rate heavy. Th> Ran-gitata-Orari and Orari-Woihi* Committeee were re-etected. The District Enginwr of Railways wrote that, the South Rnngitat* ■ stock bridge had.been completed, anS was ready for traffic.
