REEVES'S PROPRIETARY GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.
TO THE EDrxpn OP THU TRESS. 6ir,T—Kindly allow mo to protest against the childish way in which tho above Company is managed. 1 havo been a shareholder for upwards of three years, and am about full up of the directors. The dredge has been getting payable returns almost ever since it started, and what have the shareholders got out of the profits—a paltry one shilling per share. Of course. I must not forget the "congratulations" we get at every annual meeting. That gives us good encouragement to go on in the same old way for another year. AH the same, I would prefer to have hard caeh instead. You have only to look ■t the annual report to see that tho directors have had the impudence to draw £150 in lew, it would be a different matter if they had done anything to cam it. If the shareholders take any interest in /their property let them roll up at the annual meeting on the 22nd inst.. and tuSn out of offioe the two retiring directors; it is a. pity we cannot get rid of more of them. I dare cay we could get along; all right without congratulations once a year. Any hoy jnf eix'would do that for us at » trifle less th»n the present worthy directors draw.— Youml etc., SHAKESPEARE. 1 Ckrietcaurch. 18th December. 1902.
