He fancied, -however, that the .home was. not made sufficient use of. He would be very glad if ladies and gentlemen. who were linob at the sale of work, but .who would probably hear,of it, would make the . place known.' ' The charge for admission Was on|y 7s_n, week, if a child had got it, * and he'was"just as welcome if he had not gsfc it. ;There wero many children in hristchurch. who would be all the, better for a week or two at New Brighton, and I he hoped more advantage would be taken of the Home. Reference was also made to the excellent fancy stall provided by members of the Waimate branch.of the League, the proceeds from which were to be given •half to the New Brighton, Home and ha"i to the Melaneaian Mission. He had much Pleasure «in declaring'the sale of work open, 'hose present had taken much trouble in procuring £he things and bringing them there. Now they must buy them aH back again, eat all the sweets, devour all the produce, and, carry off all the good things which they had provided. The advice ivas followed, and an excellent programme of musical and other items was given during the intervals of purchasing. The stalls, etc., were presided over-as follows: Work stall, Misses Kermode, Foster, and Green; fancy stall, Misses' Baker, B Alexander, N. Alexander, and C. Bakerplant stall, Misses Taylor and D. Wells' sweets stall, Misses C. Baker, N. Jacobs' L. Heovyside, and M. RoUitt;, Christmas tree, Misses Kerrey, B. Poster, and E dtermole; Waimafe'.'stall,. Misses 'Crawshaw; dip, Misses Wells, K.
