CHRISTCHURCH CLUB.

A committee meeting of the Christcharch Amateur Swimming Club was held at the Clarendon Hotel .last night. Mr Harker presented a prize of one guinea for a Clothe* Race, to be swum on the day of the. annual sports, and Mr Harrison iOs 6d for third prize in the Quarter-mile Handicap. • A hearty vote of-thanks was recorded.to.both these gentlemen. The Quarter-mile Handicap, to be swum in the Eatuary, waa fixed for February 28th, it being the only vacant Saturday on which the tide suited.; The Christmas Handicap, 75yds, will be swum on Monday, December 22nd. : .
