The Registrar of Electors for Christ- * church (Mr I*. C. Willioms) states that it should be made clear that a person can only be on one roll, and, with one exception, that roll must be the roll of the district in which the elector re-ides. The exception in in the case where a person still retains , the property qualification acquired when such quaUficfttloris were allowed. If, however, a person who has been on the roll for such qualification and has been struck off for not voting, he cannot be put on the toll again for such qualification. Thus a person who is on the Avon roll in respect to a property qualification, but resides in Timans, can vote only in Avon; if he wishM to vote in Timaru ha requires to have his name struct off the Avon roll and St on the Timaru roll.
