CASUALTIES.
Mr Gilbert Truman met -with a serious accidtent the other evening. He was driving from Waipara wMi 'Mr J. Howie, and about three miles south of Trpapa the two got out to walk for a whale, owing to the cold. The horse bolted suddenly, and Mr Truman, who hung on to the reins, wa<9 dragged for some distance and kicked to the side of the road. Mr Howie oaught the horse, which stopped near Tipapa, and went back for bis friend, who was taken on to Cheviot, and at once attended by Dr. Inglis. A man named Lewis Thompson vraa admitted to the hospital last rright, suffering from a fractured leg, caused -by a (fall from some scaffolding at Oust.
