SWIMMING.
YALDHURST SWIMMING CLUB.
The Ya-dhurst Amateur Swimming Club held its annual meeting at the Road Board Office on Monday, twenty-three members being present. Mr W. J. Guy occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed that during the year over twelve pounds' worth. of trophies "had been given by the club in prizes. The report stated that there had been a greater interest in the sport during the season, and that the club had had the unique honour of being the only country club in Canterbury that had been favoured with a visit from the Australian champions. The election of officers-resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr G. G- Stead; president, Mr R. J. Mason; vice-presidents, Messrs Witty, Johnstone, Franks, Mortland, Davies, Bowler, Ryan, Fowler, Needham, Taylor, Carl, Piper, Guy, and Hobbs; captain, R. CDonnell;, sub-captain, P. Mason; secretary, F. J.'Clarke; committee, W. T. Franks, G. Kingdon, W. J. Guy,' Mortland, S. Needham, F. H. Bowler, and W A-rostrong; delegate to the Canterbury Centre, R. O'Donnell.
