ADMIRAL BEAUMONT'S SUCCESSOR
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received October Bth, 12.44 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 7. • It is understood the Australian station will henceforth be a Vice-Admiral's station. Rear-Admiral Sir Beaumont shortly leaves for England. Vice-Admiral Fanshawe has been appointed his successor. Rear-Admiral Arthur Dalrymple Fan. shawe acted as A.D.O. to Queen Victoria from 1895 to 1897, and was second in command of the Channel Squadron during 1899 and 1900. He is the second son of Admiral Sir Edward Fanshawe, G.C.8., and is 65 years of age.
