KAIAPOI. The Kaiapoi Borough Council met venter* - day. Mayor (Mr Dalv), Cre. .=- Blackwell, Keetley, Winfcerbourne,,Hayman, ~■' Eagle, and Pearce. The Rangiora Council tf wrote regarding the cost of the Licensing T Act administration. It was decided tha 1 matter be kept in view after next election. The surveyor reported Darnley squaie pai'tly cleared and Cam bridge repaired. A com- * • mittee was appointed to-cinspect the Ashburton reserve. . The Fire Prevention Committee reported on sumps. The receipts were £26 18s Bd, overdraft balance £175 ■ 15s lOd. Accounts amounting to £24 10s 4d were passed. A motion relative to the war funds and proceedings in connection wi'ttslhe contingents was carried on tha motion of the Mayor,
