THE SHAH IN ENGLAND
RECEPTION IN LONDON.

(Received August 19th, 10.48 p.m.) LONDON, August 19. The Prince of Wales, Lord Roberts, and a number of high functionaries of State officially welcomed the Shah, who was magnificently dressed. He wore a diamond in the centre of his black fez, three emeralds on each shoulder epaulette, a gold jewelled chain over his shoulder like a sash, and .a heavily jewelled sword-belt and scimitar. He was accompanied by a brilliant suite.
A guard of honour of the Ist Life Guards escorted the Shah to Marlborough House. Troops Ikied the route, and crowds gave him an enthusiastic reception, the Shah being greatly pleased.
The Prince of Wales in the evening represented, the King at a State banquet in the Shah's honour, at Buckingham Palace, at which sixty guests were present.
