THE SOUTHLAND POULTRY SHOW.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) INVEROAIMIELL, July 31. The Southland Poultry Society's Show, ■which opened to-day, is a fair exhibition, although, some of the classes of poultry afforded no competition. The judge (Mr Dacre, of Christchureh) said the show was equal to any other in the colony this year. In White Leghorns W. J. Noble (Gladstone) was the chief prize-winner, securing afl the awards itor cockerels and pullets. In Wyandottes, silver, C. Hack (Christchurch) took second for the male bird , and first and thifld for pullets. E. J. Boss (Christclmreh,) took ftr& for codcerel, and Mr Hack first, second, and third for golden pullet. Mr Boss obtained first" pruse for his golden codcerel. W. J. Monfeon (Waihola) was the largest prize-taker fox Orpingtons, but W. J. Ncfole had the first prize black cockerel and pullet-. In Langshans, H. Buckland (Waibouaiti) took first for the male bird, and Messrs Double Bros, obtained modi of the <Jtaer awards, including the South Island Championship. The pigwn eihc-w Was a large one. In Dragons and AmtwerpsD. Craig (Christchurch) takes five firsts and W. Fraser (Christchurch) two firsts and two seconds, and several other prizes.
