Tait, in which defendant was charged with allowing cattle to ira-nder on the line. Mr Cress well app?ared for tfvs Rail-nay Department. After hearing the evidence of Jas. Johnston, a platelayer, the Magistrate lined defendant 40s and cost*. BY-LAW CASES. H. Stepbenson, P. Hfaly, and F. drum wore each fined 5s and costs for riding bicycles on the footpath. John Fergie was fined Is for failing to register a dog. Rev. T. Fee was fined' 5s for allowing hia chimney to take fire. A GRAIN CASE. The- rase ri J. Brown v. W. Stonyer, in wfcich plaintiff claimed £37 17s *Bel, da-mages for nnn-fmnlment of contract, occupied nearly all the afternoon. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
