Wason, member for Orkney. has seceded from the Unionises, and joined the Radicals, owing to the Government's education and Irish land measures. [Mr J. Cathcart Wason, formerly member for Selwyn in the New Zealand House of Representative-, has been M.P. for Orkney since 1900, and has hitherto been a staunch Liberal Unionist.] The "Morning Post" states tha* a thorough-going Education -Act, and a thorough-going plan of fiscal union with the ccdonies, would! be more intelligible to a British electorate than halting experiments.
