Jackson being raised to the Parage, resulted in the defeat of the Government candidate. Mr Rowland Barrar Liberal, securing 7539 votes against 6781 polled for Sir Arthur Lawson. Unionist The fibres produced a great sensation sr Parliament, The result is _-M T attributed to the Education Bill and to inadequate pu-Bo control off «_oo-, also to the action of the Government in forcing the Bill through by an all-night sitting.
