FOOTBALL.
At a meeting of the South Canterbnrv Rugby Union, it was decided to play Nortn Otaflo m Timaru on August 7th,"and to hoM the annual seven-a-side tournament (three classes) shortly at Temuta. A representative team is to be sent to play Canterbury in Christehurcn on August 23rd (if the date is suitable), and it was also decided to offer Southland £510 to play a match in Temuka on September 4th, on their way to Christchurc-. On board H.M.S- Ringarooma, now at Lvttelton, there is a Rugby football team, who are desirous of playing * match with some junior team during the warship's stay at the port.
