Yesterday morning Lord Banfurly, the Hon. Mr Butler, A.D.C., ard the Mayor visited th« new Roman Catholic Cathedral. The visitors were received by his Lordship Bishop Grimes and Mr Jamieson, one of the contractors, and conducted over the building, so far as it is finished. His Excellency expressed himself as much interested in the new machinery which Messrs Jamieson Bros, have .brought out from England for the -work, and also in the building. Lord Ranfurly returns to Wellington by the Rotomahana this evening. The Mayor (Mr Henry F. Wigram) will be out of town to-day, and will not be in attendance at the Council ChamMr end Mrs F. Z. Manifold, mistress; Hampstead, Richard James Noii, pupil teacher- Miss A. E. iUackay. teacher to Mr L. Wright's children at Island Bay. The following teachers' resignations have been accepted by the Education Board: — Mrs R. M. Notherell, mistress at Culverden : Miss Maria Douds, mistress at Tinwald; Mia? E. Simmons, mistress at Larlbrookes; Miss M. Williamson, assistant mistress a.t Hampstmd: Miss N. E. Green, pupil teacher at Christchurch East; Mr W. Dickie, master of Saltwater Creek, and Miss E. Wallace, mistress at Okuti Valley.
