United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. EXHIBinON SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS. (Received July 22nd, 8.58 a.m.) LONDON, July 21. The Commissioners of the London 1851 Exhibition have awarded Richard Hosking, of Melbourne, and Albert Hunter, of New Zealand, science research' scholarships of the value of £150 a year. M. A. Hunter, the New Zealander referred to above, has had a career of unbroken success at school and college. From the Mercer district school, in the Waiikato, he won a Board of Education junior scholarship in 1890, and continued his education at the Auckland College and Grammar School, where thr__. years later he carried off a senior district scholarship. In 1896 Mr Hunter won a junior University scholarship, and enrolled on the books of" Auckland University College, whence, in 1900, he graduated M.A., with first-class honours in physical chemistry, and B.Sc, besides winning a senior scholarship in obemistry in 1899. The 1851 Exhibition Science scholarship has been given in previous years to the following New Zealand ers:—lß92, D. H. Jackson (Auckland); 1894, J. S. Maclaurin (Auckland): E. Rutherford' (Canterbury); 1896, J. A. Erskine (Canterbury); 1898, J. W. Melior (Otago); 1901, J M. McLaren (Auckland). . A FATAL COLLISION. BERLIN, July 21.
