Armstrong, of the Seventh Contingent, in the Oddfellows , Hell on Monday evening. Mr J. M. Brodie presided. Trooper Armstrong waa presented with a gold albert, with pendant, and also wjtih a hunting crop. A pleasant musical programme-waa followed by dancing.
Mrs Christie, of Karori, who arrived ia Wellingtoa in 1851, celebrated her Irondredta birthday yesterday. According to a Press Association telegram the old lady, who was born near Aberdeen, is wonderfully well, and is able to read and converse with her friends without difikmltv.
