THE CORONATION CARNIVAL.
There wae a large attendance of visitor* last night at the Coronataon CarnkiaL The opening tableau and grand march of tha different costumed holdW9 a»t attendants i was as successful as before. Tho principal item on the programme waa the gymnastic display by the membere of tibe Christohurch Physical Training School, under tlie direction of Mr T. Tankard. A number of excellent gymnaatio item* were performed, and there were also a couple of dances. To-night the Cairnival will again be open, when the programme 'wiil be to a large extent composed of volunteer items. There will be exeorcises toy the College Rifles; bridge biiiLfeg by the Engineers, and a tug-cif-war for volunteer corps. The "Midsummer Nightfa Dream" tableaux wiH also be exhibited.
