DURHAM STREET WES LEY AN CHURCH.
Tlte thirty-seventh annual meeting of the Durham street Wesleyan Church was held last right. Mr G. J. Smith, M.H.R., presided, and th,*re was a large attendance rhe treasurer, Mr A. K. England, read the balance-sheet for the year, which showed that the total income for trust purposes kad been £584 10a 9d, and the expenditure £600 8s Id. Prom the Century Fund subscriptions £366 5s had been received, and from the trustees of the South belt £830. The sum of £1000 had been paid •■off the mortgage on/the church, leaving the total indebtedness' thet-eon £600. There had been raised for the circuit fund £505 6s 4d, for foreign missions £70 6s 7d, for home missions £43 4s sd, for the Sundayschool £30, for the poor fund £24 7s Bd. The grand total receipts had amounted to 0s 9d. The Rev. W. Baumber, in commenting»on the balance-sheet, said it was gratifying to the members of the Church and congregation that the debt on the church had been reduced. A sum of about £75 was yet to be received from the Century Fund, and one of the trustees had promised £100 towards the liquidation of the debt. Thus, practically, only £400 -vvas required to be raised, which, he thought, was a sum that could be subscribed by the members of the church and congregation. The balance-sheet waa received.
