ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. William Baker, chteffcd with attempting ,/ to commit suicide at Woolston, on January -~ 24th, was brought before Mr H. W. Buhop, S.M., on Saturd»T, Mr Franks appeared , on accused* behalf, and stated thatlJaker had been wiftering badly from insomnia {or - some time put, and in a fit of depression ■' had taken prison. If accused were released ' ■; hi* son would do his best to look after him.
