The Geraldine dbonty Council, met on Thursday.. Presents-Messrs John .Talbofc (chairman), A. Kelman, B. R. Mac Donald; G. J. Denniston,. and. Dfr. Hislop; Explanation having been received from owners of traction .engines /srhtf were: reported,"to (have' commstsed breaches of the traction engine by-lawß by hajiling .on.roads without a license, it wag .decided to stay proceedings; and .that the. parties pay any costs already incurred. The Woqdbury Waterrace ; Committee reported having elected aneivrc©inmftfcee,..andtfcafcJMb-Beilly's application for the position of ranger* had "Been accepted. The Waatohi" Flat Committee reported that Mr T. Thomley had applied for water to his place, and,they decided to grant it and pay half cost of, making the race. Agreed to, provide the Temuka Road Board consent .to race to be taken along tihe road wWre'neecl-xL Messrs Meason and Marchant; reported against tarring the county bridges' as the advantages were more apparent wan real. ■ They also reported re the proposed remoyal of the disused porlaon of theuOpihi bridge, main road, recommending thafTit should -be done and a proper approach madfe, but the work would.Bβ better held over r till winter. The engineers' suggestions agreed to,. The Mt.
£eel Road Board fend Mr J. Hamilton sent £150 and ,£IS& r*ageetively as contributions towards.the, c6st of a light traffic bridge over the South Opuiia, Clayton road. Accounts ; anioo&tingj £172 0a 7d were parted for.,payment. V
