There seems a likelihood that Otago woutH be able to "provide a thousand men herself for the Eighth Contingent, over 600 having volunteered so far,'. To-day 40 men offered themselves in Dunedin alone. The arrangements for the medical examination of the men have been practically completed. The camp is to be formed at Tahbna Park for-those whose homee are not in town or "who wish to go into camp. It will not be a training camp in the strict sense of the word, although tests and some preliminary drills for the purpose of getting the men into condition will be held, j
{FEESS ASSOCIATION , TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 20. The rush:lor enlistment in the Eighth Contingent continues. Up to this afternoon 400 applications lor enrolment were lodged at the Auckland Brigade Office, besides' 58 -applications from officers for commissions.
