PAPANUI SUMMER FAIR.
The usual Summer Fair wa& opened: by Mrs Julius at St. Paul's Schoolroom, Papanui, yesterday afternoon. There wae a satisfactory-attendance during both afternoon and evening, and from a business point of view, also, the'fair promised every success. The various stalls were presided over as follows:—Flower Stall, Mrs Snow and the Misses Jfiven; Plain and Fancy Work Stall, Meedames Foster, Matson, and Wateon, with Misses Harris and Hancock; Doll Stall, Misses Campbell and Buchaan; Refreshment Stall, Mesdames Hartland and Leversedge, with a staff of young ladies; Christmas Tree, Misses Belcher (2), and Hatydon (2); LoUie Stall. "Misses, 'JSnow, E. Price, Sh&w, and Bloxam; Art Stall, Mr S. Campbell, Meedaniee WilcoxS and B. Campbell, Miss WilcoK; Gold Mine, Misses Earns, Gifkin, and-Price (2); strawberries and cream, Mesdames Njcholls, and! Bucham; iOipsy Tent, Mrs Biohaards; Produce Stall, Misses Dunnage, Tisch, and Veitoh; Art Gallery, Mr R. Faster and Mice Dowde;. Shooting Gallery, Mr Corrie; Temple of IMyetery, Mr K. Townend. There were also a : large. number of competitions and side-sbows. Tho fair will be continued to-day and this evening.
