While the Auckland and other racing -.clubs have decided ito license bookmakers, the Dunedin Club declines to depart from its previous decision to exclude these gentry. The practice hitherto adopted of allowing bookmakers, who may also be. owners of horses, access to the club's property to see their nominations run, is also to ; be discontinued. ". A. —'033, who has Canteen engaged in the principal events at the Wingatui'next week, forwarded a denial to the Hon. G. McLean that }—.j had made wagers on the course, together with a cheque for £100 to bo applied to charities if anyone could prove that he had done as suggested. The secretary has forwarded him a letter that, after due consideration, it was decided he should not be allowed to attend.
