MISCELLANEOUS.
A match was played at Hagiey. Park on Thursday afternoon between the Christchureh Veterans ahd a team representing the cabmen of the city. The Veterans won by 117 runs on the first innings, the scores being: —Cabmen 37 (De___ain 16 and Ingle 10) and 79 for five wickets (Page 38 and Ingle 28)-; Veterans 164 (Bloxam 48, Palairet 27, Ritchie 18, Goring 18, Blake 17, - and Owen 13). Goring and Owen bowled well for the winners, . the former taking six wickets for 15 runs, "and the latter three for 22. Frith and Pace were tbe most successful bowlers for the Cabmen; Mr G. Willmer, the captain of the Veterans' C.C., wus. present, and as usual displayed the liveliest interest in the game. In the Primary Schools* Competition, Sydenham bead. Addington by 80 runs. Scores:—Sydenham 91 (Doug-all 17, Baldwin 12, Hobbs 12, Gray 10, Hayes 10); Addington . 11. For Sydenham DougalJ took five wickets for _ runs, ahd Robsou five for 9, while Gale bpwled best for Addington.
