MEETINGS, ENTERTAINMENTS, &c.
On Thursday evening the St. Paul's! Young .Men's Bible Class commenced .a series <xf • meetings to, commemorate the opening of their j class-room, where the meecinga of the' class will in future be held. Dr. KhmsLie, in a. few well-chosen words of' advice and congratulation to the members,' formally declared- the room open. The meeting took the form of a gathering of parents and friends, and during the evening musical and vocal items were given. Mr T. W. Reese, the leader of the class, gave an 'interesting account -of the class' since its I formation, with- only a few members, up to the •present time, with its membership of 70. Expressions of thanks were given to the congregation and managers far having provided so .handsome a room for the class, and' to the many 'friends who had : so generously contributed towards the fur--! jiisning of the room: It may be noted' that the very excellent picture of the late Mr W. Chrystall, painted by Mr R. Proctor, to which reference has already Seen made, has been placed l in the room. Mr Ohrystall always took α-very deep interest in the welfare of the class, and therefore the placing of his portrait in the new room was most appropriate.
