The Bemnera Water Works Construction Empowering Bill, Westland and Nelson Coalfields Administration Bill, and tbe qiafrVm Islands County Bill were put through all their stages. PUBLIC HEALTH. * In Committee on the Public Health Act Amendment Bill* Sir JOSEPH WARD moved a new ' > clause, empowering a magistrate, registrar, or justice of the peace to grant-certificates of exemption from vaccination. The •~ deuce aunply rs-enacbed section 170 of the ' Public Health Act, 1900, and made tbe - additional provision that such certificates can be granted by ft justice of the peace, the idea being to afford facilities to people living in tike country district* to more easily obtain such exemptions than they ~ - can at present.
