Cup matches were continued in Christ- i church on Saturday afternoon, the weather 1 being.She and the grounds in good order. The close of the first innings in the Syden- i ham and Addington-Unhed Senior match \ left the former team 62 runs to the bad, and when time was called, United in their second innings had lost five wickets for 234 runs. At Lancaster Park the home team gained a lead of 172 runs over .Midland on ; the first innings. Midland's second venture ' has, so far, produced 66 runs for the loss of three wickets. SENIOR CUP. LANCASTER PARK v MIDLAND. - ( An interesting afternoon's play was wit-- , nassed in this match on Saturday, when _ j the Lancastrians further increased their \ j advantage over the Mrdlanders. With nearly an hour to bat, the Midlancktrs went in a second time, but with the score at 16 Callaway performed the "bat trick" by taking three wickets with consecutive balls. Mansell was clean-bowled with a. good one. Barry, juri., lifted his first ball into mid-on's bands, and a fast straight one sent Strange back. Callaway's feat was loudly applauded, and his comrades at once subscribed their shilling each to buy him the traditional headwear. Lawrence and Barry, sen., then playe-d sound cricket, and carried the score "to 66 before time was called. Messrs Brinsden and Sutcliffe were the umpires.
