ODDFELLOWS.

ASHLEY DISTRICT. The half-yearly district meeting'was held at Woodend on Saturday. P.G.M. Bussell presided.. D.P.G.M. Talbot, Prov. C.S. Jennings, and delegates from all lodges except Cheviot (which sent an apology) were also present. Motions of sympafchy wibh Bros. Martin, Crampton, and Wilson, P.P.G.'s, were agreed to. The G.M. said it was a matter for congratulation, there was no necessity to make a half-yearly levy. Letters were read stating the nomination of P.P.G.M. Kent for insertion of his portrait in the "Magazine" would, have to stand over till April, 1902. Loyal City of Norwich and Lyttelton Lodges asked for co-operation in celebrating the 1.0.0. F., M.U., Jubilee in Canterbury. Bro. Marshall, delegate to the Wellington Conference, replied on the steps taken to set up an A.M.C. It was resolved to incorporate his report with that of the district meeting. Hie balance sheet showed credit balances — Funeral Funds £715 13s 2d, Management Fund £3 Is Id, Distress Fund £44 12s, assets £865 6s 3d. In place of Bro. A. B. Blackett, Bro. M. Gilleepie was elected a trustee, and Bro. Kelcher auditor. In re- , ference to the Jubilee celebration a Church parade to the Cathedral was approved, ; and it was also decided to hold a picnic. The officers nominated were:—P.G.M., Bro. H. Tajbot; D.P.G.M., P.G.s C. W, Bell and F. Herrell. The annual meeting [ was fixed for April sth. Bro. W. C. Tinkc ler, one of the first membeis of the Wood- [ end Lodge, died while the meeting was > in progress, and it was resolved to convey . to his wife and family the sincere symr pathy of the delegates. r
