CRICKET.
Although entries for the Cantecbmy Cricket Assoc&tion'e competitions closed yesterday, up to the present th» secretary he* not received a single entry. It is safeto aarae that this does not mean that there will be no Cup cricket in Christohurch this season, but the secretary of the Association would be glad to fearn the intentions of clubs in regard to entries. The Sydenham and Addingtos United Cricket Club will open the season at the Sydenham Park on Saturd&y afternoon next, when a match between picked teams wiH be played.
