On Friday evening nest the Orangemen will hold a social ana concert in the Canterbury Hull. From all accounts the affair promises to hi a oorapletf success. The Sam Weller Bwarry in celebration of the twenty-first anniversary of the Chrisfccfcuroh Working Men's Club will be held this evening in the Recreation Hall at stven o'clock. The annual social and presentation of prizes in connection with tho Sydenham Amateur Swimming Club will be held at the Druids' Hall, Colombo road, on Friday night. The plan of the reserved seats for the season of the Josephine Stanton Comic Opera Company will open to-day a.t Messrs Miner and Thompson's Music Warehouse. The first performance will be given at the Theatre Royal on Monday evening next, when "Fra Diavolo" will bn produced.

The Ada Delroy Company, under the management of Mr Montgomery, will give a performance at the Oddfellows' Hall, Lyttelton. orn Saturday evening^

An adalt tea meeting and concert in connection with the St. Matthews' St. Albaos branch of the Church of England Temperance Society will be held to-morrow, at 6.30 p.m. A meeting of scholars of the Normal School with reference to the flag will be heid to-night. In connection with the forthcoming concert to be given by the Orange Institution, it haa been decided to invite all returned troopers belonging to the Canterbury Contingents to be present. The proceeds of the concert are to be devoted towards the Jubilee Memorial Fund.
