03ie ordinary meeting of the Halswell Road Board 'was held on Monday. Present—Messrs Lewis, Hugonin ' and Quaife Air Lewis was elected chairman, in the 2* 01 ** of Mr Garforch, deceased. " The SydenLm Borough 00-uncil. wrote, • stating that a conference of local bodies near Christahurch would be t 1 at Borough CouneiU offices on July 16th to consider the methods adopted for makmg and revising rolls, and the cliarges made for doing thie work. It was tMt the Ohoiirman, and Olerk attend the conference. .The Selywn Coimty CoTuicil forwarded a statement of the amount chargeable against the Board for hospital ,and charitable aid for the year— i>ls2 1% 2d. v It wots resolved to pay the amoitnt pub of ordinary revenue. Thie Clerk was instructed to make terms for the cartage of soil for footpath on Lincoln *"?# . It was resolved that at next ordinary meeting of the Board a rate of •|d in the" £, and a Waimakariri rate of l-32nd of a penny in the £ be levied and ecUeoted for the year ending Alaa-eh 31st, 1902. Accounts amounting to £282 Os 4d were passed for payment.
