FOOTBALL.
Thß Canterbury Rugby Union has arranged the dates for practicaiCy all the interprovincial matches to be played this season. The fixtures are:—July 25th, v South Canterbury, at Christchurch; August 3rd, v Wellington, at Christchurch; August 17th, v Otago, at Dunedin; August 21st, v Southland, at Invereargill. Negotiations are proceeding with the Hawke's Bay Union for a visit ct that province's team to. Christchtiroh. The, New Zealand Rugby Union has fixed the diate of the New South WalesCanterbury match for Wednesday, August 28th, but the Canterbury Union has written to the governing oody pointing out that it is useless to fix the match for a Wednesday, aa_d asking that it should be played on the following day, Thursday, August 29th.
