THE CHILDREN'S DEMONSTRATION.
To-day Trill be the school children's day, end they will assemble in great force on the platforms in Victoria Square, which have been handed over for their u#e by the Platform Committee. The children from the country schools Trill inarch from the railway station to Victoria Square via Kouth belt. Durham street, and Oxford Terrace, gaining entrance to the platforms afe the junction of Oxford Terrace and Armagh street. All children mast be 60 the platforms by 9.45 sum., and their Royal Highnesses, v w&o will come by Victoria street Bridge, are expected to' arrive at 10,30 *.in. It had .been originally intended that their Royal Highnesses should remain in the carriages. line has now been altered, aadthey will be received on the dais Used on Saturday by his Worship the Mayor 'and the Mayoress, with fcbe chairman of the Children's Committee. On tibe Royal carriage appearing in eight the children will cheer and wave their toi*toi phunes, and on the party arriving in the enclosure a *ignal will b* given by cornet*. The children will then rise, and at a signal from 3lr B. Trot Scare)], the conductor, give three cheers ; one verse of the National Anthem will then be sung by the children on the signal being given hv the band. Tbe bouquet wiH then be presented to her Royal Highness the Duchess by Miss Ida May Beeae, who will be accompanied by the three otker eeleeted representatives of the various school*. The children will again give three cheer*, taking their time from the conductor, and as tin Royal carriages move away another verse of the National Anthem will be sung, and three cheers will again be given. No special provision hae been made for the general public to take part in the function, and apparently those desiring to witness it moat do co from that portion of Victoria- square which is not included in the portion closed and the bniHingn in th* viebttty.
