ROYALTY ARRIVES.

The occupants of the stands rose to their feet as the strains of the National Anthem pealed out from the band, and the $ruard of honour of th© College Rifles, under Capt. Harper, came to tts present on each side of the platform, hundreds of handkerchiefs were waved by the ladies, and ths men gave cheer upon cheer. Th« carriage was. followed by Viscount Criohton and the Dtike of Roxburgh?. The Duke, who was dressed in adntir&Fs uniform, repeatedly acr knowl*dged Uia cheers by a salute, whilst the winsome Princess May, who was dressed in bjack and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, presented to her by the Mayor's daughter, bowed her acknowledgments. H}s" Excellency th.« Governor mat the Royal £vests at the foot of the staircase leading to the dais, and slowly, tvmidst cheering, and accentuated by the joyous peals of the CathedraJ bells, the, Duke and Duchess took up their station on the dais.
