Good Canterbury Canadian® are quoted at 26s to 28s; ordinary Bhzff at 24s to 255; and epanwbills at" 23s to 23s 6d per 3841b. Duns 17s to 17s 6d per 3361b; aod Danish 17s per 3201b. The supp*.y of New Zealand beans is exhausted mearrwhile, but good quality may now bo quoted at about 33s to 34s per" 5041b. The following vessels have arriv:d from New Zealand during the last fortnight with fresh stocks of grain on board: — JL'he Indradevi, bringing oats, wheat, barley, and peas; the Star of New Zealand, wii-h oata; the Aotea, with wheat, oais, acd seed; the Taranaki, with wheat; the RimutJLka, with oats' and peas; and the Antares, irom Auckland, with wheat. The Loan and Mercantile Company note that there is practically co business v passing In spot cocksfoot seed, ot which a very small quantity is available in first hands, and for which 39s per cwt, ex warehouse, is being asked for good 181b seed of last season. The market for new season's seed has noir fairly opened, and some considerable business has been done at prices ranging from 32s per cwt, c.i.f., for 131b seed of nrcd urn colour, to 37s 6d for 171b medium colour, while 41s is asked for 181b and 393 for 171b bright seed."

The grain markets are quiet locally, aod will be until the festivities in connection with the Royal visft are over next week. Buyers of oats who were endeavouring to operate in Southland liave now obtained their requirem>£ints, and the pressure in that direction has, it is said, now been relieved. <
