MELBOURNE, June 20. In the Federal Parliament it was stated that it would oceqtiire 57,000 Lee-Enfield rifles, costing £274,000, to equip the Australian volunteer forces. LIBEL ON COLONIAL TROOPS.
ADELAIDE, June 20. Mr Chandler, editor of the "Free Lance," has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment and fined £60 for libel contained,in air article reflecting on the morality of the Fifth Contingent while in camp here.
