The decorating ot tije building will be a special feature of fcho show. Their Roynl Highnessea will visit the exhibition on 26th. The entries show tliat forty Horticultural and Fruit Growers" Associations have entered for the competitions in nearly all cl&aaes, independent of which entries have • been received from thirty-seven special delegates and private firms and individuals. The question of a new dry dock at Port Chalmers was mentioned by!Mr Aillen at bis meeting last night. It is proposed tha-t all local TOodiee interested in 'the welfare of the district and of Ota.go harbour shall! form a deputnifcioß and proceed to Wellington to interview the Government, making a request for additional endowments bo >fchat the work might be carried out. The help of commercial and other- bodies and also of shipping companies will be sought.
