On passing the Bland, Grade M. was ju3t in_ front of BoldcTwocd, with Pioneer and Ebony just showing out from the rear division. At the half-mile post Bdlderwood was well clear of Grade M., and a little further on Pioneer took secohd place, six lengths dividing him from the leader. With a mile gone, Bolderwood Was going cor__fortao_y in front, Pioneer second, followed by Ebony and Gracie M., the rest a long way off. Ail through the final round the leader easily held his own, and Pioneer, breaking repeatedly, allowed l_.bony to finish 60yds behind Bolderwood; thea came Pioneer, 70yds off, followed by Moonbeam. Going round the back Nantes improved hear position, as did Michael Malone, and at the half-distance this pair were first and second. From this out Nantes and Michael Malone had the race to themselves, and there was only two lengths between them till half through tbe last round. Here Michael Malone broke badly, allowing Nantes to ,go on and win by six lengths from Principal, who was followed at a longer interval by Micbac.l Malone. Time, Smin SJsec. Entering the back stretch, Lancfewood made a mistake, and Huon Prince took up the running. General Grigg* now in third piece. Entering the last mile, Lancewood had Huon Prince's measure, but, breaking, allowed General Grigg to get up, and the latter, going away, won comfortably by four lengths from Lancewood 11. The Winslow Sports and Radng Ciub's Vie- ! toria Thy meeting was held yesterday in a ! paddock at Winslow, kindly lent for the occasion by Mr G. A. M. Buckley. The day, though cold, was fine, and there was a good attendance. The course was in capital going order, and several of tho horse events produced close finishes.
