DUNEDIN.
. I (SF-SdAZi TO "THB PRESS.") , I ■ - DUNEDIN, May 24. " The arch at the top of Princes street, near Montague's, will probably be known as the » Corporation Arch. , It having been officially announced that i war medals will not be presented at the ." Octagon, report has it that the ceremony I will form part of the function connected with . the laying of the foundation stone of the > Queen's statue at the Triangle. i The decorations Of the main portion of the , route are being taken up enthusiastically by • the citizens. An additional £100 has been ■ collected' for this purpose. Already the • work of illumination is being put in hand. > There is reason to believe that very fine dis- '. plays will be made, particularly at the Town i Hall, the AM.P. buildings, and-the Union Company's offices. '< It is probable that when the approved programme is published the Veterans' Association dinner will find a place. Mr Holmes, Executive Commissioner, who arrives to-night, has wired his gratification of the splendid progress* made in Dunedin. He will to-morrow confer with the Mayor and the Reception Committee, when he hopes to complete the final programme.
